Thread: Can metformin help you get pregnant?

Hello all, I was told by my ob/gyn doctor that I have pcos about 2 weeks ago. The doc gave metformin 1000mg and some prenatal vitamins. I have been taking metformin twice a day and the prenatal vitamins once a day. I just have a question: I haven't recived me period yet, can i get pregnant since i'll been on metformin.

I was on metformin when I got preggo with my first son. Was on it due to pcos as well. Good luck!

My dose starts at 500mg for a week then the 2nd week 1000mg then for the 3rd week 1500mg... and I continue this dose.

You'd better not turn to the medicine to get pregnant, you know, avoid taking over-the-counter medications, i suggest you to research some tips for getting pregnant and make an attempt, maybe it is due to your sex position or you are just too nervous when make love.

I know it's a little late to reply this question, but i still my answer can help you. Technically,as long as there is no related complication and the blood sugar is controlled, you can planned to get pregnant and have a baby.
