    Post Wow! What an appointment.

    Had my appointment this afternoon. Here's how it went:
    I got into the office and the nurse asked me if I was 20 weeks, I said no I'm 12 but I'm having twins- she said I looked big for 12 weeks. I just chuckled, no big deal. I get into the exam room and a really nice nurse comes in and she put the doppler on my belly for, no lie, about 5 minutes searching for the heart beats. She kept shaking her head, and said "I don't hear any heart beats." I got a little nervous and she sent the doctor in, I started BALLING my eyes out because I was so scared. They doctor (who also had twins) told me to calm down and not worry, but she was going to take me in for an ultrasound. So I go into the u/s room and she starts the ultrasound and there were the babies! Kicking, punching, swimming away! Healthy heart beats and all :) They are SO big now that we can't get them in one picture. But, they are SO big. I could see their noses, and their cheeks! She didn't give me any pictures because I am going back on Thursday for genetic testing and I will get lots of pictures then. Also, I want to ask you ladies. She felt my uterus and said that it's growing A LOT and that I'm measuring 16 weeks. What does that mean? That I'm 16 weeks?

    Wow, that's so exciting to hear that they are growing so well! The measurement just means that you are measuring at 16 weeks. At my last appt. I was 23 weeks and I was measuring 26 probably cause I'm a bigger girl. You are probably measuring bigger because you are having twins.

    I'm glad it went well. And you got to see your little ones again. I'm sure you are measuring big cause you have twins?! I wouldn't worry about it!!

    OMG what a crazy appointment.... I wonder if she meant big for having twins? Or just went with the general 1 baby measurment.... who knows but maybe ask on thursday? Glad you had a mostly good appointment :)

    Glad you got to see your babies! Remember that measurements are just estimates, and it is not an exact science. I am actually measuring about a week and a half behind my due date, but we know EXACTLY when we conceived, so apparently I'm just having a small baby. I wouldn't worry too much hon! Congrats!

    so glad your appt went so well, hun. When I was pregnant with our twins, I always measured ahead. At my last appt with them at 16 weeks I was already measuring 20 weeks then. I think it just has to do with the fact that you're having twins, so your uterus will measure larger. Good luck with your appt on Thursday!

    That nurse shoudl be ashamed for scaring you like that. The professional way to handle a manner like that is to say "The dopplar is not picking up the heartbeats so I'm going to see if the doctor wants to give you an ultrasound." UNBELIEVABLE! But I am so glad to hear that your twinnies are doing perfect and that you got to see them again! You will prob start to feel them soon! I cannot wait to see pics from your next appt!
