Thread: Labour & Delivery...

... as some of you girls will know, I've been losing my plug over the weekend. Well, yesterday, I started passing clots and bright red, heavy (period like) blood. So, of course I ring the labour ward last night. They had me go in and I have an 'irritated cervix' which is responsible for the bleed and baby is fine!

Whilst I was there, I had to get an anti-D (rhogam) shot, an internal (ouch) and a stretch and sweep. I am almost 4cms dilated and definitely (confirmed!) in slow labour! Thank goodness for that - my body hasn't forgotten what to do after all!

The hospital didn't keep me as I wasn't quite 4cm or in a 'regular contraction pattern', so I came home. I had an awful night, didn't get a wink of sleep because of the period-like cramps and sporadic contractions. My midwife is due in an hour, so we will see what she says. I'm really hoping to go into full labour later on tonight or tomorrow, or else I will be admitted at the weekend for a 'helping hand'. So, eventually and 10 days overdue, we finally have lift off! Please, keep sending me that labour dust girls!
