Thread: I want to get started now!

I started work around 20 weeks and was finished by 28! We didn't find out the gender, so kept it neutral with creams and an abstract zoo theme. If you want to get started, there's no reason you shouldn't. At the very least, you can have some fun looking for something you like!

yeh i think wait til 20 week scan comes back ok, all healthy and then GO GO GO! and have fun!we had boy but last thing i wanted was blue - BORINGso we went bright !!

We got started right at 20 weeks when we found out what we were having. We bought the crib & changing table and set it all up then too! lol I loved going in there and just looking at everything everyday. It made me so excited to see the baby stuff. As far as the theme, we didn't do anything at first because we were renting at the time, but once we moved into our new home (when Eli was 8 weeks old) we painted his room in Cornflower Blue and Seafoam Green. We did a painted wainscoting in green and then a stripe of the blue with stamped animal stencils in the blue stripe. We love it. It wasn't too "themey" and will be okay for him once he's older too, not too babyish. Here are some pics: (just click on the one link below and then you can scroll through his room pics)

I think I was around 20ish weeks too, same as Kath we didn't know the sex so it was just neutral colours and a jigsaw theme!!

Hey Andrea....we ordered our furniture when I was about 16 weeks, but it took several weeks for it to come in. It's still a work in progress b/c we're still waiting on the armoire and rocking chair, but I made a thread not too long ago with some pics of my nursery so far. I'll do a search later and see if I can find it.....we're doing a jungle theme for ours.....our walls are dark green and we bought dark colored furniture, but the actual crib bedding we are getting is a nice mixture of light greens and yellows with some other pastel colors mixed in....I love it!!! I ordered the crib as soon as I knew what I was having. And the kids share a room so with Alina I waited to find out what she was at my 20 weeks scan but she didnt want us to know so I painted it green till we found out and added a girlie color.

What theme are you doing? In a year they both will have their own room so I get to decorate

I think I started around 20 weeks also! I never had boys..but if I did I always thought I'd go with a sports theme. My Dh is a hugh sports nut. I can't wait to see what you go with!

I started Austin's Room I think when I was 16 weeks.... My parents had given us the crib so I bugged DH to set it up and make sure we didn't need to buy a new one and then at around 25 weeks I got Austin's Bedding set from my mom and then I did a little at a time after that and just barely got it done before he got here lol.... I did his room in a zoo/ noah's arch type of theme since we didn't know what we were having

Well I wanted the room painted a nutral color so I think we painted when I was about 12 weeks. And then when we found out we were having a boy we decorated with a jungle theme.
