    Default Overwhelmed

Hi all! I've been reading through the ttc section and am trying to figure out where to start! We r trying to conceive our first - first month of trying - but feel overwhelmed with all these charts and stuff. What do I do? I feel like it's too much and just might hope for the best! Feel overloaded!!!

I remember feeling like this when I started charting too. But the more you read the more you understand.

Get a bbt thermometre I got mine out of a pharamcy called Boots. It stored the last 90 temps on it and made it into a chart. You can also post your temps on a website called fertilityfriend.com and it will work out when it thinks you have ovulated.

Also get used to checking your cervical mucous when you go to the bathroom, as you enter you fertile phase you mucous will be clear and thin and stretchy, like egg white.

To be honest I charted for the first 3 months of ttc, and it stressed me out I had no idea what was going on with my temps and I just didn't trust it. So one the fourth month I used ovulation predictor kits and just bd every day from before i thought I ovulated right up to about 10 days later, i watched for my mcous changing and for ovulation pains. And I just went for it. I got my bfp last month!!

Alot of people prefer to chart, you should read some of the older posts in the charting section of the ttc forum, there is lots of great advice and alot of women who actively chart who would be able to help you much more than me!

    Good luck!

    hi there ,

this charting thing, observing mucus, position of cervix etc are all stressing to me which ı am using for the last 8 month.ıf ı dont get a bnp this month,ı wont do any of these, and bd around the estimated ovulation date(which ı will know according to cycle length),some of experts tell that having intercourse 3 times a week in a cycle is enough to get pregnant because this charting and other things causes stress and avoids pregnancy.

good luck!!! ,dont be overwhelmed,it will take longer time than you expected, but believe me it will happen one day.try be relax and happy you will see the best result in a while.

If you havent even started to try yet there is no need to jump in the hardcore ttc yet. Try it normal, just bd around your O time and go from there. Most people dont start charting and stuff until they have had a couple negs anyways.

Hello there!! I imagine it can be pretty overwhelming looking at all the info and signs and stuff. If you really want to look into charting BBT, then I would suggest looking on www.fertilityfriend.com and reading through the info on temping. I agree w/ 1sttimemom20 that maybe just trying a few months by estimating your ovulation can be a less stressful way to start out. If you find you aren't successful, then you may want to look at getting a thermometer and really diving into it.

Do you know your normal cycle length? Have you been on the pill or some other form of contraceptive? Those could also affect your cycle if you are just now coming off of it.

Best of luck and don't be afraid to ask questions of your own, even if they've already been posted before. It's always good to get some fresh input.

I agree with 1sttimemom. I never charted and all the other methods either. I wouldn't get too involved and stressed out until you've been trying for a few months. Also, if you were on BC, it may take some time for your body to adjust. It will happen when you least expect it!! Good luck!!
