thanks sam thats very useful info!!
Some of you girls are starting to think about introducing solids. I thought I would post some info on starting solids too early. If you start too early it can actually be bad for their digestive system, may cause food allergies and they may not actually get much out of it anyway.
It is a personal decision best made with the knowledge of what your baby needs at this stage of life. Best wishes.

Thanks for the info Sam. I was told ot look for signs and thats waht I did. And he took to it very well. Every baby developes differently.....
I started solids with Tristan at 4 months, like his peditrician told me too. He LOVED it!!! Now, he has to have his own spoon during mealtimes otherwise Mommy can't feed him. He still doesn't use it like an actual spoon, but at least he gets used to holding one.
My ped. recommends no earlier than 4 months. My book explains that babies have a rooting reflex & that reflex doesn't start to diminish until 4 months. So, putting solids into baby's mouth would be useless since their tongue would be pushing it out. I can't wait to read some articles to get my MIL off our back. She tninks he should be on solids & drinking water too. Arghhhhhh!!!!!
