p.s. she is 11 months
spoon feed her or give her food with my hand. this limits what i can give her. what do i do? she absolutely wont let me feed her with a spoon, she clamps her mouth shut and turns her head.
this means oatmeal for breakfast is out of the option. she will hold the spoon for about one bite, but thats all she can do with a spoon
where do i go from here
cheereos and cereal bars every morning
im too scared to give her eggs with all the bad eggs
p.s. she is 11 months
As long as there is no runny part of the egg, they should be fine and kill off any salmonella, but why not go savoury with cheese on toast, fruit salad,Alex loves fruit salad he is a blueberry addict!!
We had the whole salmonella scare thing over here a while ago I think 10yrs or more, most of our egg prodcuing chickens even organic free range are injected now against it,do you have the option in the US of that!?!?
From what I understood, it's only a certain brand of egg that was potentially affected. We always buy Eggland's Best and as far as I know, they weren't affected. But regardless, how many teeth does Abby have? By 11 months Matthew had a whole mouthful of teeth, so there was pretty much nothing off-limits. I never feed Matthew breakfast anymore, he is completely independent. Here is Matthew's typical list of breakfast foods:
Frozen mini pancakes or French toast sticks that he can dip in syrup himself
Cereal bars
Dry cereal (Apple Jacks, Kix, etc)
Sausage patties (cut up)
Scrambled and hard-boiled eggs
Toast with Jelly
Fruit cups
Bacon
Fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, bananas)
she has 4 teeth - I just worry she does not get enough, half of it still ends up in her lap. I just weighted her this morning after I made the OP and she is doing fine on her weight gain though....so I guess its allright
wow my shift button worked for this post! yay!!!!!!!!!!!
she does not like fruit. i offer it all the time, and considering i give her no outside sugar with the exception of the cereal bar i gave her for the first time this monring, i have no idea why she does not like fruit
Oh I forgot sausage mmmmm sausage!!!
Matthew did good on the teeth then Alex only had 3 or 4 at 11mths,but didn't stop him he would munch on meat like the rest of us
Cindy it is like a repeat thing with the dropping, putting it back from her lap onto the tray, but feeding themselves is great for motor skills,if she is still on her line and gaining I wouldn't worry at all!!!
Yep, she will be exactly 20 pounds at one year old...talk about AVERAGE right smack dab in the middle LOL
I dont like pork so I dunno bout the sausage. i dont think to buy it because i dont eat it. would be a good source of cals/fat for her tho
Tofu
you can get turkey sausage if you dont want her eating pork either/you dont want to waste it.
I thnk they both basically said everythng I use to do. I typically keep those baby magizine clippings with what to feed them so I will look for them for other ideas
What does she do if she has a spoon and you have a spoon? Trey was kind of the same way and well never ate babyfood unless I forced it into his mouth.
Cindy, I buy the frozen sausage patties in a bag from Wal-mart....that way you can just nuke one patty at a time in the microwave and you don't have to worry about a whole package of sausage going to waste. I really don't eat too much sausage either, but Matthew loves it!
