    Default The adventure begins...

    On Tuesday DH had sperm frozen. His numbers weren't great but there was motility!! Woohoo! This has been an issue so we were glad to get this result. The embryologist was happy with the results. He froze 6 viles. Also, he froze a sample and then thawed it to see how the sperm would respond...there was still motility!

    On Wednesday we went to an IVF information session. We were walked through the process and given a huge package. This included meds I will be on and all the consent forms. On Tuesday I will be going in for lessons on how to give myself all the injections and then Wednesday I will go in to talk with a nurse in regards to my next steps, fill out consent forms and pay my outstanding balance.

    So far we have paid $300 for freezing sperm and $500 for info session (deducted from total cost of IVF). The remaining balance is $7600. This is not as bad as we thought but still pretty pricey. We will also have to pay for the meds. My plan is pretty simple. I saw another lady's med sheet and there had to be about 8 meds!! Yikes, poor girl.

    The success rate is awesome at my clinic. At my age, 35, the numbers are about 68% for pregnancy through IVF. Add onto that the fact we are doing ICSI, I think our chances are really good. They also include assisted laser hatching to help with implantation. I am feeling really good about this!!

    It is a little overwhelming but I can't help but get excited...just gets me one step closer to the end result!!

    Yaiii congrats! Dont hold your hopes on that price, we started at 8600 and ended up spending double! Worth every penny!

    Good Luck!! I hope you have great results. Let me know if you have any questions. My advice is to relax a lot. The meds can take a toll on you emotionally. There were a couple times where I just sat and cried because I was so tired. DH was a huge help for me so lean on each other.
