I have no clue. I would diffently talk to the doc. I'm doing the 5k here on October 11th. I usually run/walk, but I'll be 9 weeks and I haven't done either in a while so I'm not sure what to do either. Let me know what the dco says?
So I need to know if I'm being realistic. Most of you know my sister Mardee is a two time breast cancer survivor. Well October is Breast Cancer awareness month and all my sisters are walking with her and her support group. It's a big walk about an hour from my house. I want so much to be there and walk with them..
I wonder if I start walking everyday now to build up endurance. Like 10 a a day then increase it. The walk is at the end of the month so I'll be 9 months preggo and due in 24 days.
What do you think? I was gonna talk to my dr. about it on the 8th.

I will, thanks!!!
You could always stop if you feel you can't complete the. It depends on the walking distance though. It you feel it is too much then you could maybe just go and watch to support them?
I say check with your doctor and then decide. BUT - If I were you, I would go anyway and I would walk with them for as long as I could...even if it were only for 1/2 mile. You still participated and did something with and for your sister
Plus it will mean a lot to you and will be a great picture for your children - you and your sisters together with you ready to bust with baby supporting and loving them!!
I agree with Lauren. Talk to your dr but I would do it. And just walk as far as you feel comfortable. If you have to stop then stop. Pull out your big sign that says "I can't waddle that far"But seriously, even if you only walk 1/2 a mile you are still showing your support! and I know that Mardee will understand whatever you decide!
If it were me I wouldn't think twice about doing it. But.... and it's a big but lol. I walk a heck of a lot. I know 5k is about 3 miles and I easily walk about 2 miles every day just going to and from my job.
We also go walking pretty much every weekend and easily cover 5-6 miles in a day.
I know that it isn't recommended that you take up new exercise in pregnancy, however I think that taking up a walking regime would be really good for you. It's low impact, no real risks of falling and will get you fit before your labour!
The main thing I would be worried about is raising money and then going into labour before the date and not been able to complete it lol.
But it's for a great cause and I am sure that with a bit of training beforehand, and if you take it steady with lots of breaks and water, you will do fine.

Oh and I did the 5k race for life here when I was 13 weeks pregnant, and I felt worse then than I did at any later stage of pregnancy with Daniel lol.
