Thread: all the sudden just depressed

i'm sure it will take time to get used to it all. its a lot of information to sink in at once.

its natural to be a little disappointed if you had your heart set on a girl, but there are lots of good reasons to have a boy first! I know that you'll love him with all your heart anyway, just take the time you need to get used to it, and start thinking positively about it and you'll find you'll start to feel a bit better each day.

if you were hoping for a girl then its normal to be a bit dissapointed that you have a boy...I think that give a couple more days you will start to get excited about a HEALTHY SON!!! I think you will be fine and excited very soon...its always dissappointing at first when you down get what you "want" but congrats on your son and congrats on his health and good luck the rest of your pregnancy!! and welcome to BTZ!!

I agree with everyone! Once you start buying things for him, you'll be just as excited and you thought you'd be about having girl. I would think, for me, it would sink in better and I'd get used to the idea if I went out and bought the bedding that just suits a boy! Not sure why, but I think that may help.

Little boys are so much fun to shop for... cute clothes arent just for girls trust me, I go crazy buying stuff for my little man! At first I wanted all gender neutral stuff so that it could be used for future siblings of either gender... but now that he's here, its blue blue blue! LOL

But you know, that may be PART of your depression but its not all of it... preganncy hormones definitely magnify things like that! I honestly had no preference as far as gender so I cant speak from experience there, but when you are pregnant even the littlest disappointment can get all blown out of proportion... but when you se your little boy it will be your LOVE that is larger than life!!!
