Thread: Another month

Dear Elleth,

I charted my basal temperature from june 11th the day I got my period. I had my period for about 8 days and then i went to see the gyno. He told me i had an infection on the 22 started using a cream until the 28th. Beginning the 29th we started having intercourse again. Is there a chance we could have hit the ovulation day. According to the website I downloaded from Nosa (I believe) with a 34-35 days cycle I have hit the ovulation days. But everyone and the doctor says something different. He told me women ovulate 14 days before their next period? From the day of my period i have been recording my temperature. And everyday i have a temperature of 36.1 in celsius sorry at 8:30 in the morning. When will I know when I ovulate. Today being the fifth of July shouldn't i have had a higher temperature i am getting close to getting my period again. Elleth please help me get my questions anwered. Thankyou

There is a chance you hit the ovulation days if the ovulation chart shows it. It is true that typically your period begins 14 days after ovulation. On a standard 28 day cycle, this is also 14 days after your period. With a standard 34-35 day cycle, then ovulation is typically later. Charting your temperatures usually lets you know for sure when you ovulate, but you seem to be having a problem with your thermometer. Yes, your temperature should fluctuate throughout the month. With your temperature being the same every day, I suspect there is something wrong with your thermometer. You can try changing the battery or just get a new thermometer. I hope it works out for you this month.
