    Question Birth Control

    Just a quick question: How many of you got pregnant while on birth control?

    I got pregnant while taking Ortho Tricyclen. I am on the mini-pill now. I am breastfeeding 2-3 times a day. I was just wondering how safe I am?

    i thinkk u need to switch to a full strength one now.....i was told to get off the mini pill once i was under 4 feedings a day


    but hey look i was obviously ovulating!

    I wouldn't mind getting pregnant as a surprise! I guess I would rather not have to make the decision! I keep going back and forth. This would be #5 for us. Some people think I am crazy for having 4! I just don't feel like I am done!

    i was on the full strength pill when I got PG with Ella... I was religious about taking it, hadn't been taking any antibiotics, grapefruit juice all that stuff you aren't supposed to do...

    but hey presto - i go to the doc thinking i'm suffering from some mystery illness cos i feel sick and nauseous all the time, and i'm pregnant...

    Same here with #3. I was taking the full strength pill, never missed, no antibiotics, etc. AF was always on time with the pill. I was late and took a test and it was positive! We were in shock! I was so happy though. My boys were 4 and 2 at the time. When baby 3 was born, they were 5 and 3. It was perfect!

    They say that birth control pills are 98-99% effective. However I have known too many people who got pregnant while on them. I'd check with your doc to see how long or how good you're protected right now. Me---I got pregnant the very first time with my DH while on nuvoring AND condom.

    Well, we used a condom right after I stopped the pill and I got pregnant (he was even out of town when I ovulated). I think I've just been very lucky it hasn't happened before!

    If you don't want another right now, I'd double or triple up on methods to be safest.

    My sister got pregnant with her second child on full strength BC, I know she took it everyday, I was there...so, yes you can get pregnant while taking bc.
