    Cool Dealing with natural labour-Help

This is so very new to me!!!!

I am 25 years old having my first child in 5 weeks!

I am looking forward so much to be a mum but i do not have any finger nails left.

I am feeling all those great feelings you feel before giving birth.

Does anyone have any great ideas/stories mainly natural.

I have watched 2 births but this time it is me!!!

I work with under 2 year olds and reasure them this part does not bother me at all....

    It's just labour....

    Heidi,
I gave you some tips in your introduction thread that I hope will give you some ideas. I think it is great you are going natural.

Best of luck to you and your little angel!

    Hi Heidi,

I can e-mail you my birth story if you like. Its quite lengthy and detailed.. I gave birth at home in a birthing pool with just tens and gas & air, but ended up in hospital for a couple of days due to needing some stitches. I would recommend a natural birth, but I got through a lot of gas and air! I definitely plan to have another home birth if I can, I'm not sure if I would give birth in a pool again though..

    good luck

    Cathy

Have had both natural and an epidural for my deliveries. There were positive and negatives for each one. With my epidurals, I didn't have the pain that I did with the natural one, but I didn't like being refined to the bed during labor and having to wait for the meds to wear off after the baby was born.

With my natural labor, the transition was hard but fast thank goodness and it was a lot more painful and I felt at times I was out of control. Afterwords though I felt empowered and so proud of myself for doing it drug free. I liked that I was up walking around until I was about 8 cm dilated also. I think gravity really helps with labor and laying in bed hinders it.

There are so many options now to help with natural childbirth like hypno childbirth, the bradley method and so on. Good luck!

Well i have had a baby girl now

and tried to do a natural labour
but it did not work that way for me.
My water broke but labour did not proceed
    I needed hormones in my drip x x x x x x x

    Next time

I only had gas and pethadine
    with a very traumatic birth x x x
