    Hi there,

How long has it been since you went off DP? I was on it a few years back - i did not enjoy my experience on it, but that may have just been me... How have you found it?

According to the physician's, the median time to conception for those who do conceive is 10 months following the last injection with a range of four to 31 months.

Since Depo-Provera does not accumulate in the body, the return to fertility is independent of the number of injections received, but may be affected by a woman's age or weight.

So, start charting within the 3 months after getting your last shot. Be aware that cycling may or may not return for a long time. Chart temps, looking for a lowering of high temps that shows you are gradually reducing progesterone. Then look for a change in mucus to the fertile type, assuming then that you are fertile. Then look for ovulation confirmed by a temp rise.

Unfortunately, I'm not an expert on charting, but for a bit more info on charting, have a look at one of the numerous sites mentioned in here, and ask around on BTZ, there are a few experts here!

There is some basic info here:

Also - have a look at the following link - there are a few q & A's regarding fertility and DP on here that may be of some assistance:

Hi, ktlin. to Baby Talk Zone!

Karen gave you some great advice. The change in mucous is a good sign. If you'll post your yo-yoing temperatures I'll take a look at them for you. Also, you can use an ovulation prediction kit to verify that the hormone that stimulates ovulation is turning on for you.

    Sending tons of your way!

    Hey ktlin,

Its perfectly normal for your temp to be all over the place - just remember that your body's trying to get back into its own rhythm again, and that it might take a while for it to settle... Just give it the time it needs, and relax and enjoy life and time with your partner in the meantime... as when you do have a baby, its all go after that!

It will all happen at exactly the right time for you, so just learn to trust your body - as strange as it sounds, it was designed for this exact purpose! It will tell you what you need and when and the best thing i found is just to go with it...

Look after yourself, eat wholesome healthy food and keep taking those prenatal vitamins. The healthier you are the healthier your baby will be when he/she arrives.

Keep charting temps and check out ovulation prediction kits and other resources available to you. I have seen www.yourdays.com recommended to others here, and from what i've seen of it it looks like a fantastic tool for charting!

Elleth is the queen bee when it comes to charting and ttc, so if you have any questions, do post them here and i'm sure that someone will have the answer for you, or at the very least will point you in the right direction.

Hope all is well with you!

    Talk soon,

Hi Ktlin. I'm new to the boards, but your post particularly interested me. I used to be on Depo also and had my last shot June 2004. My period still has not returned. So, the fact that you have a cycle is a good sign that it won't take your body as long to return to normal. The ladies here have given you some wonderful advice. Speaking from experience, it may take several months to gain normalcy and get pregnant. Remember, the shot stays with you for 13 weeks, which means that yours would have just started to wear off earlier this month. Good luck to you.
