    Default Hoping and waiting

I have been trying to get pregnant for awhile now. I have had five miscarriages. I missed starting my period this month and haven't been feeling well. I took a home pregnancy test on Thursday and it came back positive. We wanted to be sure so I took another test again on Friday and it came back positive. I will hear from the doctor on Monday whether I am for sure. My husband and I are crossing our fingers. I know I am because I have all the symptoms but he doesn't want to get his hopes up.
The only thing is I have to get past the 12 week mark. We are so nervous about every pain and I hope everything goes ok. I can't get through another miscarriage. Does anyone know what I can do to increase the chances of not miscarrying.
I think this is a great site and the info is great. Thanks to everyone.

Hi, Darlene. to Baby Talk Zone and Congratulations!

You didn't mention if you knew the cause of your previous miscarriages. You should talk about this with your doctor when you go.

Progesterone cream can be used to prevent miscarriage if your progesterone levels stay too low. Your doctor can treat this and other hormonal imbalances. Some other conditions your doctor can treat include autoimmune disease, blood clotting disorder, kidney disease, low thyroid function, and diabetes.

What you can do is keep yourself as healthy as possible. Take your prenatal vitamins everyday. Eat a balanced diet of whole, natural foods. Avoid smoking and drinking. Try to relax and not stress. Pains are natural right now, so don't let those get to you. Exercise everyday.

Sending tons of and your way!

The doctors couldn't find out why I had all of the miscarriages. My doctor during the last pregnancy found out that I had a tipped uterus but didn't say that that was the cause. I went to the doctor and took a test on Friday and yesterday found out the results. It came back as "A weak positive". He said he wanted another test done and I shouldn't worry about it. I find out the results tomorrow. The home pregnancy tests are still showing up positive. I'm trying everything to stay healthly to increase my chances. I'm walking, eating right and taking my vitamins. I was also taking Folic Acid. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    Darlene,
A tipped uterus can cause a miscarraige if it doesn't set itself upright during pregnancy, but that is rare. Typically you'll see problems more with things like pain during sex or possible fertility problems.

I have my fingers crossed for you too. I'm glad you are taking the vitamins. I'm not sure what the doc means by a weak positive. Let me know how your test results come out.

I've got great news. I got the results back from my pregnancy test and it came back positive. I have to take it easy and hopefully everything will be ok.
