    Default need advise

Hi, I had my ualtrasound and everything looks good. But after taking antibiotics for a urinary tract infection, I developed a yeast infection. I talked to a nurse at the docs office on Friday and it was ok for me to use Canestan Cream I dose that I had bought. Unfortunatly It did not get rid of the infection. Do you think it is ok for me to got to a three day treatment right after using one. I am dyeing from the pain and itching and I don't think I can wait to ask my doctor on monday. It's so bad I can't sleep at night. DOes anyone have experience with yeast infections during previos pregnancies? Also During my Ualtrsound a kidney stone was detected. could that couse problems later in pregnancy?

Hi, Prarie Kitty. How far along did they say you were with the ultrasound? I'm glad to hear that everything is looking good! I would be concerned about using a 3 day even if you had not already used a 1 day. The milder the treatment the better it is for your baby. A 7 day cream is preferable while pregnant. In any case, I do not recommend that you take any medicine at all without approval from your doctor. Perhaps treating the symptoms would be better? Also, you can eat yogurt with live bacterial cultures to help prevent yeast infections in the future. You might want to try a cold compress of witch hazel to help relieve some of the symptoms until you can get to your doctor.

The kidney stone can cause a lot of pain. Hopefully you will be able to pass it, or possibly your doctor may recommend surgery. Drinking lots and lots and lots of water and not consuming any caffiene will help with the stone. It is also good general advice while you are pregnant. Some other foods to avoid to prevent more stones: grapefruit juice and foods that contain oxalate such as beets, chocolate, spinach and other dark-green leafy veggies, rhubarb, okra, and nuts. This page gives you some good info, but for some reason they recommend drinking grapefruit juice, which has been proven in studies to be bad to drink for kidney stones. http://www.gicare.com/pated/edtgs29.htm
