Just found out she is SIX week pregnant not seven.
So Chelle is a day off 7 weeks and went for her first ultrasound today. They said it shows that she was definitely having twins but one of them is gone. They said the other is showing a fetal pole (?? Any ideas never heard of it!) but they cannot see a flutter of a heartbeat. She is going back for another ultrasound next week but she was so upset and worried.
Should heartbeat definitely be visable at 7 weeks? They haven’t done a blood test since they confirmed her pregnancy but said that her levels were very high and she has been feeling sick this week.
Please if anyone has any info or could spare a thought or prayer for her it would be much appreciated xxxx

Six weeks is normal for no heartbeat as it can be any day for it to start beating... and a fetal pole is a good thing.. thats the baby!! I'm sorry she lost 1! But praying and hoping this one little wee one sticks!
Oh thanks ladies, would it make any difference on a vaginal ultrasound? Or is it just how a baby develops and not that she isn't seeing heart beat due to an unclear scan?

I'm glad it turns out she is only six weeks. I don't think the vaginal ultrasound would make a difference, it has to do with the stage of the development of the baby. Like Kelly said, any day now it should start beating.I'm sorry she lost one, but sending positive thoughts for her little bean to stick!
Thank you all so much! Am passing this info on to her xx

Oh no..I am so sorry she lost one!!! 6 weeks is still early. I had an u/s at around 6.5 and only a fetal poll was there (vaginal u/s). He said it wasn't totally unheard of not to detect a hb at that time and told me not to panic until the week after. Unfortunately, the heart didn't start beating in my case :( but like I said, the tech said he has seen normal pregnancies where HB wasn't detected at 6.5, so I am sure 6 has an even better prognosis. It should start up any day now!!
