    Default Social life

What do you BTZ ladies do for a social life outside of the home both with and without the kids?!I know with kids the phrase "social life" can be a joke, but have you made a different set of friends and such since having kids. I have a pretty good social life despite bring a SAHM on my own half the year.I have got friendly with alot of the parents of the kids friends, plus near by have some good friends too. So it is not to difficult to get together with or without the kids.Keith and I have a date night once a month too and my parents babysit. Plus now woth Alex at Nursery 2 days I try to have one day to myself doing something for me and the other day is deep clean day lol

So what you do or do you feel isolated or could do more?! Have you managed to make new like minded friends with kids etc.....just thought it would be interest to see what everyones social dynamics are with and without kids.

I work full-time with an hour commute to and an hour commute home from work (so basically 10 hour work days). With 4 kids on top on all that, I have no social life....always joke about how my kids are sucking the life out of me (lovingly and jokingly said most of the time). It is hard to get people to watch the kids as most people cant handle our small kids all at once. Usually when mil watches the kids, it is for funeral or something and we feel bad for asking her for more.
So yeah...social life is almost non-existent for the time being.

I keep meaning to get out and meet people. I would say I feel a bit isolated just cause we moved here to a totally new place when Helix was 3 months old. I love the area but both DH and I realize that we are not going to meet our best buddies via his work, so somewhere else maybe...

I don't have any children and I still barely have a social life....I have several friends that I talk to on a regular basis and my best friend is married to my DH's best friend, so we do a lot with them like dinners and travel. Other than that, I am a loser with a capital "L".

I'm with you Skye!! I've lived in this town for 4 years, and have a few acquaintances, but really, I don't have that special group of friends or anything here. I don't have a social life, and I think that's kind of by choice. I feel bad asking my aunt to babysit (comes with my attachment issues), so we rarely do anything. I do sometimes go to the odd thing that the acquaintances have thrown.

We don't have too much of a social life either! We moved here a year ago and will move again in a few years, as most military people do. The place where we moved to has a LOT of military; however, they are officers and are only here for 10 months and then gone! Plus I worked full time and pregnant most of the time, thus tired all the time. I do have lots of girl friends from work and such that I talk with and text. However, not really go do things with. Now with a newborn I won't want to leave... it will be less likely!

I have lots of family and nieces old enough to babysit, so if I would want to go out to something, I would be able to work it out. Mostly church functions, weddings, showers, etc. But most of my "social life" would be hanging out with my older sister and her hubby. We just take the kids with and put them to bed there. I don't remember the last time we went out on a date or anything tho. Last year I played hockey, so that was a nice night out every week... this year not so possible (not that I would prefer it anyways :) )

Guess we know what kind of crowd BTZ attracts. I'm a loser too...I have a few ex-coworkers that I say hi to. And I text DHs step sisters...but other then family only 1 person has come out to see me and Cody. She has a 9 month old boy and her hubby is friends with DH so I would guess that we will end up hanging out quite a bit when the guys go quadding. But there's nobody in town my age and I'm kinda a hermit lol. DH is a workaholic so neither of us really go out socially much.

Ha, it's funny I was thinking of starting a similar thread :)
Anyhow I have 0 social life really. My family is all scattered around the state and I have no friends I hang out with. I'd rather be at home. Guess I'm the ''friend'' who gets the last invite or no invite at all in most cases. So yea, pretty boring!
