This was us with B except DH hated the name I wanted. We just decided to wait until he was born. Turns out B looked like a brooks and not a brannon.
You could just post both names here and let us vote on them...promise not to steal them![]()
So, have you ever had this happen... you have your heart set on a baby name you really love... and your DH has his heart set on another? If so, what did you do? We're SO close to deciding on a name... we've poured through names and names and finally we're so close to announcing it... but we're stuck because of this. We might wind up doing the name I like for a first name and the name DH likes for a middle name... but that means the name I like for a middle name will be out, and then I will also feel guilty for the name he likes being the middle and not the first, lol. I am honestly not sure what to do... it's not that either of us dislike the names each other loves, but we just really want the names we each like to be the first... you know?
I thought about scrapping both names and doing something we both "like"...but I don't like that idea either, because I don't want us to have to settle on a name we both like less. I also saw a suggestion online about combining the two names you and your DH like... but I don't like any combination of the two.
So... if this happened to you, what did you do?

I was going to suggest combining them but I see that won't work. The other thing is, my brother has two middle names so you could still use the middle name you like, but I guess that doesnt solve the issue of DH's name being second. Hmm, tough one!
I just fight my case and get my own way lol.
I agree with Honey. I don't give up and usually try to find ways to bribe him, or pick vulnerable moments when he might agree with me to get his way on something else. Eventually he will either say, "No, never, even, and never talk about it again." or give in.

LOL!!Thanks girls, I am having a crappy day and ya'll made me laugh!
Anyway, yeah I mean here's the thing... I know that if I even seemed a little sad about it, he'd totally let me have the name I want... BUT, I feel horribly guilty for things like that. It's just in my nature, haha. That's why I am so unsure of what to do... we have a deadline of deciding by the end of the weekend though, so either way, I should know by Monday!![]()
I honestly think we would both drop the names we loved and make a compromise on one we both liked.

People will always talk about you. Might as well give them something to talk about.

We gave each of the boys 2 middle names, 1 for me and 1 for him (and they each mean something), and then a compromise on the first name. As much as I say we "chose" the names, it was really if I agreed on the name, lol!!! And, I too feel guilty about names, so I know where you're coming from. Jaxon's middle names don't exactly flow, and I originally wanted Daniel to be the name I chose, but it didn't flow right. But, Adrian's middle names has the name I picked first, so I felt like I needed to let DH's name he chose be first with Jaxon.
I would either use the name you like for the first and his for the middle. Or do 2 middle names. I have a friend that all 4 of her kids have 2 middle names. They had names they wanted to use to honor family and that was the way to do it. And if he really loves the name he could always call her that as a pet name. My sister-in-law is Kiley Rose and my FIL always calls her Rose. Good luck. Picking names is HARD!
