My understanding is that it can take a while for fertility to return after the depo shot, but you are at the point where typically it does return. Everyone reacts differently to depo, though. I have heard of people having false negatives on the pregnancy tests for up to two months, but that is not common and there can be a number of other reasons for abnormal periods. I am glad things were OK at the doctor. If you still think there's a chance you are pregnant, then definately act as such. Take prenatal vitamins if you are not already, avoid alcohol and tobacco, etc. I will keep my fingers crossed for good news for you!

Hi Hondagurl. Like you, I also was on Depo prior to my pregnancy with my daughter. It is very different for all people. And yes, they do suggest you get off depo AT LEAST a year prior to wanting to conceive, since it can take that long, or longer to conceive once off Depo. For me, it actually was a lot shorter though.

My long story made short... I had missed my 3 month depo shot, and was about 3 months late (figured I wouldn't get pregnant) I went in for my shot, with a total of about 6 months since my last shot, and guess what... They couldn't give me the shot because I was pregnant! :) So yes, mine wore off in 6. But it is very different for everyone. Good luck to you though. :)
