Help fever and strange rash
Good morning all...thank goodness were up and running again...
I have a few questions..Cohen woke up Friday am...with a high fever and no other symptoms..nadda. Then by Friday afternoon he started to get real faint like so I took him to our immediate care as his pedi office was closed then....everything was clear....his chest, lungs, ears, flu swab...they chalked it up to a virus and said to keep him rested and hydrated...so that night he threw up everything and looked so terrible...we almost took him to the emergency room..but he finally was able to sleep. Saturday...he keep what little he would eat down...but still this high fever..that comes back after the tylenol and advil where off....Sunday he was doing better..no fever during the day..still not eating much...but def better...Sunday night....terrible..the high fever came back at night..and Cohen didn't sleep all night...all night...just crying moaning...so sick again....This morning he gets up and now has a rash behind his ears and a little on his chest...I've never seen anything like this....I do know kids can get rashes from fever's rightHe has a dr. appt. at 1:10 today...
Has this happened to anyone's toddlers before..I'm so worried...he really hasn't eaten much in now three days

Try not to worry Danielle honey, you've had him at the doctors and like you said everything came back clear, so I'm sure it's nothing major. That's good that you're back in again this afternoon though, I would want to get that rash looked at. Poor Cohen, he must be feeling miserable.

Thanks girls...I'm sitting here thinking the worse...Aleah never had anything like this...ugh...I will keep ya posted..

I'm not sure what it is but you're right - sometimes kids develop rashes from the fever, rather than it being a symptom of something else. I'm glad you've got a doctor's appointment today, though. I hope everything works out at the appointment and it passes quickly. Keep us posted.

Are you taking him to the doctors?
I know he is not eating but is he drinking?

It could be roseola. Both my daughters have had a it. It's a harmless virus that starts out as a high fever for a few days. When the fever breaks, a rash appears. It's quite contagious; however, by the time the rash appears, the contagious stage has passed.

I'm not sure, I hope he starts to feel better soon. Good luck at the doc's appointment and keep us posted on the little guy.
