Hi there,
we've got as part of our health system an organisation called ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation) The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) administers New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme, which provides personal injury cover for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand. In return people do not have the right to sue for personal injury, other than for exemplary damages.
There was a woman just recently that found out she was pregnant after having a tubal ligation (tubes tied) and managed to get accident compensation based on the fact that her pregnancy was "personal injury" they are still deciding what the exact compensation will be! I'm not sure whether to say "good on her" or don't be silly - nothing's fool proof... What do you guys think?

How could any body sue for being preg.? It is the most most wonderfull thing in the world. I've had 3 unplanned preg. and they were all a blessing. I think of the 2 preg. I've lost every day and hope that one day I'll find myself preg. again and all will go well. My 5 yr. old is the most precious thing in the world to me. How could any one say that being preg. is a personal injury. I think she just wanted to get money for that baby. As far as the problems with her child it is unfortunate but it happens. U always here about women who do drugs and other things while being preg. and have perfectly healthy babies or women who do every thing right and have a miscarriage or have a child born with problems. It's all in Gods' hands. I hope that her baby never finds out what she did.
