ohh hunnie. big big hugs to you , things like this happen, hope both babies are ok. more hugs your way x
Today has just sucked!! Jordan and Aaron were playing in the pool today while I was getting ready for work, Jordan ran in the house and when she hit the kitchen floor she slipped and rolled her ankle. I put the straightener down to go get her off the floor, and in literally two seconds of turning my back Maddie grabbed the straightener, she started screaming I picked her up and put her in the bath with cold water running because at first I wasn't sure where it got her....started looking her over and found skin pealing off baby girls finger tips, three fingers have second degree Burns, middle finger is the worst with possible third degree :-( she screamed for three hours till the burn cream finally numbed them...poor Jordan has a swollen bruised foot and Maddie is burnt....and here I am feeling like a sh!t mom that they both got hurt....will not lie I was crying right along with Maddie...
OMG. I'm so sorry hun. These things happen, don't blame yourself. It is not your fault. The burn sounds awful. Did you take her to the doc? Helix got 2nd degree with some little bits of 3rd degree burns on his head & ear from a hot cup of tea and we went to the ER and we had to put antibiotic ointment on it 3X a day and cover it with vasoline, and keep doing that for like 2 weeks.

Poor girls- all 3 of you! Things happen sweetie, I know its easy for us to say and if the situation were reversed, we'd feel the same way- but this is exactly why theyre called accidents. Hope all 3 of you heal quickly!
I know exactly how you feel! When Matthew grabbed a hold of the wood stove while it was like a million degrees I felt like the worst mom ever. Things happen and we can't always keep our children from getting hurt. The best thing we can do for them is to comfort them when these things do happen and know that we can't always keep them sheltered. Trust me, if I could put my kids in a bubble I definitely think I would!! Hugs!!
I think if possible just leave them. Blisters are the skins way of protecting the damaged skin underneath. Poor baby but this is not your fault at all! You were running to help one child and it was just really unfortunate you happened to be straightening your hair at the time! ((((hugs))))) to you both xxxx

oh you poor thing :( And obviously poor maddy and jordan.
When L burnt his hands badly on the fire, we did the 20 mins cold running water (unfortunately for the first 5 mins only treated one hand as we didn't realise he'd burnt both ) then numbing burn gel while we got to hosp. One of the first things they did at ER apart from kiddie morphine shots was to wrap the burns in glad wrap (plastic cling film, whatever u call it there) as it reduces the pain by stopping air getting to the exposed nerve bits. Something i will remember if God forbid i have to deal with burn first aid again :((
I wouldn't pop them yourself, u should check with the doc for follow up care with dressings, pain relief etc if they're huge. We had the plastics specialist at the burns unit remove the blistered skin, then dressings for the next few weeks :((( horrible stuff.
Poor maddy those straighteners pack some nasty heat, bad enough when i get myself when i use them.

Ohh don't blame your self hun........poor babies hope they start feeling better soon..........and pls don't break the blisters, i had it and broke it there was only water inside but the burning sensation gets doubled and the skin might just come out while doing normal things as they are kids and wont stop moving around or touching things..........take care hun and if possible take medical care.....![]()
