Hi Jodie I have had a couple of breakouts on my face. I think it is normal and just hormonal. I tend to get these when I have AF to so I must be sensitive to my body changing. I have cut back on facial moisturiser and it seems to not be getting any worse. It will pass - just yucky. Best wishes.

Hi Jodi,
I believe it is just the increase in secretion of oils bought about by hormonal changes.
Tips my pregnancy bible has given me:
* Drink lots of water - at least 1-2 litres a day. Helps keep your skin moist and clear
*Wash your face 2-3 times a day with gentle cleanser
* Use an oil free moisturiser to keep skin hydrated
* make sure make up is oil free so as not to clog pores
* IF DR APPROVES a Vit B6 supplement (no more than 25-50 mg) can be used for hormonally induced skin problems
Hope this is of help
Hi Jodi,
i had a few breakouts to start with as well...
my face seems to have settled down now, but i've noticed over the last week that i've had breakouts in places i've never had breakouts before... back of my neck, on my shoulders etc... i think its just a hormones thing...
it is a bit yuck though - you think you get over this stuff when you are a teenager huh??
Thanks for the reply Karen...
Yeah i'm getting them all over my shoulders and neck also..
i feel like i'm 18 again and even back then it wasnt this bad...i guess
i'll just live with it.... : )
Hi Jodi!! I too started getting small break outs (mainly on my face....yuck!!) at right around 14 weeks. I think it also has a lot to do with the extra circulation in your body. Your body starts pumping more blood, secreting more oils and just generally moving more fluid through. Angie gave great advice. Most people don't get a chance to wash their face that often, but making sure your make up, moisturizers and lotions are no oil based will help. Try to use a light moisturizer, but use heavier creams for your belly and boobs to help soften the skin as it stretches. Palmers makes great skin care products for stretch marks.
Good luck!! I know it's not fun, but more people than not go through it!
Hey! My girl friend is preg. about 14wks... she got REAL oily hair and face, and break outs. She changed her shampoo and conditioner from something that make her hair soft (Pantien) to something a little stronger (Infusium) and her hair is in MUCH better condition now, and oddly enough, it cut down her break outs!!! Weird?
