Default What do you take to the hospital?

When I went hospital to have Elín I too so many things with me. But didnt use any of it.

We get given most the things we need, nappies, baby clothes, maternity pads, something to give birth in, nightgowns and even big disposable knickers. lol

What other items do you pack for the hospital? The only thing i can think of is cds as i was able to play one of my cds during the delivery.

I packed overnight stuff for me, the diaper bag for baby along with the coming home outfit, hat and booties, and that was it. When I went in the first time I didn't even use anything that I brought so I didn't even bring anything the second time.

Yeah I know. I took a massager, but I didn't want anyone to even touch my back so that was out the second time, and I took washcloths but the hospitals had them, and I didn't even get to listen to music on my cd player, so the music was out the second time. The hospital this time had a tv in the room so we just watched that while we waited.

snacks and things for DP,Keith got hungry and bored when I was in labour but that was 2 days nearly, but men miss food lol!!! So I packed him snacks and even though I will have no labour he stays all day the day I have baby so I will pack him a pack lunch type thing and loads of snacks and drinks, plus the night before he normal goes and gets us both some magazines too,not so much for the day for me but for the long boring times in hospital!!!!!!

Sounds like pretty much everything else is covered for you,I packed 80% of mine last night,I just need to stick in my own PJ's,dressing gown, money for patientline/phone,couple of extra tops and bra's for me!!!!

It was fun last night looking at newborn nappies so tiny!!!!!

I compared Elíns nappies to the new born ones so cute and i did a wash of cloth yesterday. My friend has given me some for new born and they almost fit on a doll.

My poor DP was SOOOO hungry last time. There is no cafe at the hospital just a snack machine. He went to get something after many hours of having nothing but it was out of order. I didnt really think about food but did get something after a few hours. I ended up sharing it with dp because i wasnt in the mood for eating when in such pain.

I cannot believe that you packed snacks and drinks for Keith, I would've let Darren pack his own food, I was pregnant LOL

I would take some nice shampoo and bubble baths etc for afterwards, I SO needed a long warm relaxing bath afterwards. It's good that the hospital provide most of what you need, we have to take all our own stuff.
