Sleeping arrangements have changed alot for use since the last I posted here, BOTH dogs sleep in the livingroom now, as one still snores like a grown man and the other is too curious about everything and nudges the heck out of you when trying to sleep. Now we have a kitten and he sleeps in the family room for now, when he's bigger he'll sleep where ever he so chooses.

Keeping pets too close is not good for your babies. They might have some allergies due to various reasons. My kids also love to keep their dogs in bed but I have arranged a separate place next to their bed room.

I have a little terrier, Zoey. She does sleep with us, but she sleeps at the end of the bed. This has always worked for us. She was attached to us from the moment we got her. I think if we had her sleep somewhere else she would whine too.

I do not allow dogs on the bed. At all. My bed is not a place for dogs to sleep.

The family dog does sometimes want to sleep in our room, so she sleeps on a blanket on the floor. She's happy to be with us, and will pick one of the blankets. Sometimes she wants my side, sometimes his side.

The cat though? HA she's a queen and thinks she shares 'her' bed with us LOL spoiled brat.
