    Default grieving for my son

So my doctor called with the results of the genetic analysis for my m/c. And she told me our baby was a boy. I had no idea they were going to be able to tell us that. It makes it even more real and more sad, if that's even possible.

The reason for this m/c was that our baby had an extra #16 chromosone. It had nothing to do with my progesterone level. So basically there is nothing wrong with me or my husband, except that some of my eggs are defective, which is expected at my age. We'll go see a specialist now, but I don't think there is going to be anything they can do. We just have to keep trying over and over and over until we get a good egg and sperm together.

I guess that is good news. But we still have no idea how many times we'll have to go through this before we get a sticky BFP.

OH, I'm so sorry. But at least it's somewhat good news, right? You are meant to be a mother. I'm praying for you to have a normal healthy pregnancy in the near future.

I'm so sorry about your loss, but I am glad they have answers for you. I sure wish they could have told me what my m/c was...I was 14 weeks along. But since it was my first m/c they didnt do a test.
You take all the time you need to grieve...no emotions are "wrong". Hope you feel better soon!

Oh Cheryl, I had no idea they could tell you what the baby was. I guess they can because the sex is decided upon conception and then the tests they do on the fetus can show. I am in a worse situation than you and Magz and anyone on the board regarding age as I am 42 older but I have faith and hope since I have had two healthy children already that there still are some golden eggs there in me.

I do know I was pg at your age of 36 and Magz my sister was pg at either 38 or 39 very healthy baby. You will find a good egg as you still have them trust me, not all of them are defective in the 30's or even 40's, there are golden eggs still there my Dr. said so, it just is harder to find them.

I bet and hope you will have a sticky baby the next time. I'm sorry to hear this news of your boy. Don't give up sweet, maybe just take a break like I am and see what is in store for you and DH. I'll be thinking of you and DH. You still have time and you will get a golden one next time.

I know how upsetting it is. We found out our first mc was a girl. Don't give up hope though. It will happen for you
