Oh no, that sounds awful - I don't have a clue what it could be but make sure that you get an appointment asap x
I am not on birth control. I have not been on birth control since 2003. Here is the deal:
My cycles have been regular most of my life. The past six months I've noticed my cycles becoming irregular...really short! Then the past two months I noticed brown spotting mid cycle.
Today is day 18. This morning I had SEVERE cramps and substantial brown spotting. Its not my period. I had to wait to take my daughter to school, I could barely walk. I am talking a 7 on a scale from 1-10. (10 being labor). I was crying they hurt so bad.
What is going on with me? Any advice? I can't be pregnant. Every time I google my symptoms I keep getting pregnancy stuff. I know I'm not pregnant. What else could it be? I'm getting worried so I am going to make a doc appt...but still it would be nice if I had some sort of idea or a nudge in the right direction before I go in? Anyone have any idea whats up?
Is this just...PMS? I mean, I was really really irritable last night and had trouble sleeping. I've never had PMS before. Something is different.
Oh no, that sounds awful - I don't have a clue what it could be but make sure that you get an appointment asap x

Worry doesn't help tomorrow's troubles, but it does ruin today's happiness
I would call your dr. If you have a change in your cycle and mid cyle spotting something is going on. Even if it's nothing more than a hormonal change i would get checked out because it could be something more serious. Mid cycle pain could be a cyst or something too. I'd say check with your dr.
My sister in la's had adenomyosis...very painful cramping and abnormal frequent periods. Even if this isnt what you have id make an appt with your gyn.

With that pain level, I would go to the doc. An infection could also cause bleeding and cramps. Hope you feel better soon.

well, it turned into a period! An 18 day cycle. WTF they just keep getting shorter and shorter. I am going to go to the doctor just for the cramps alone but the cycle lengths are freaking me out. This is nuts.
Thank you everyone for your help.
I had a roommate with Endometriosis (spelling???). Every now and again, during ovulation and normal period times, she would be in absolutely excruciating pain. She once couldn't reach her medication and I came home to her curled up in a ball on the floor. She said it felt like little explosions in her body. Does that sound at all like it?
Otherwise- perhaps an infection?
It felt like...a terrible cramp..or labor pain but more localized. Less global...I guess. I don't know.
What kind of infection? I've never had an infection before. I don't have a fever or anything...
A vaginal bacterial infection might cause it, but if you haven't had anything but horrible cramps and earlier periods, it is sounding more like hormone balancing issues. I had a bacterial infection once, and I didn't feel sick but I had some odd colored discharge, so it was impossible to ignore.
When I had my first yeast infection I had terrible and awful cramps. So so painful. I didn't notice any discharge either. It had nothing to do with my period though.
