I'll try to get on through Phil's blackberry to keep everyone updated, but for tonight, we're shutting off everything and shutting out everyone to spend our last night together as just the two of us. First, a late night snack and then lots of relaxing in bed. I'm nervous/excited/scared/excited. I can't believe it's really time!

Next time you all hear from me, I'm gonna be a MOMMY! :cheer::cheer:

Anyways, I hurt. Oh boy do I hurt. I'm having period like cramps, but not super regular. They're 10 mins apart here, 15 there. But there's a constant hurt below my belly button. I had shooting wrap around pains while walking, but none of this is causing my belly to tighten. Could this be the start of things or does it sound like I'm just overdoing it and my bod has had enough?

What a week it has been. Due to my blood pressure/preeclampsia my Dr decided he would induce last Friday. However, the Monday prior I went in for my regular apt and he told me he was inducing me the next day as I would be 37 wks then! He checked my cervix and asked if I had been having contractions. I told him I didnt think so, just some cramping. He laughed and said they were contractions, I have just over 4 cm dilated and in labour. He told me I could go over to the hospital then to be admitted for pain meds or go home until labor became harder. I opted to go home lol. Labor did not get any worse so we waited until 730 am to go back in. I was give the gel to hurry labor along and we settled in for a looooooooong day. At 10 am the contractions become quick and hard, every 3 mins apart but by 3pm I had not dilated any further. My water was broken and the contractions came every 2 mins apart. Finally at 530 (only 6 cm dilated) I opted for pain meds. Nurse began to give me Diladiud, however I suddenly felt like I had a 300 lb man on my chest and I stopped breathing. My pressure went up to 181/114!! After some oxygen and work the breathing came back to normal but we obvioulsy chose to forgoe any futher pain meds. Contractions were 20-30 seconds apart for about 4 hours now. Finally around 930 the Dr came back in and said I was still only about 7 cm. He ended up 'rimming' my cervix forcing it to 10cm. OUCH!! At 10:02 Baby Kyden was born!!! His cord was wrapped around his neck and the nurse began to panic which paniced me but our Dr was so calm and was able to unwrap it easily.
Even though Kyden was 37 wks, and 7 lbs 10oz he had a few issues. His blood sugar crashed so he had to be hooked to an IV for several days. He couldnt regulate his body temp so he was in an isolette until Sat. His lungs were not functioning properly so he had to be hooked to oxygen. Due to the breathing issues he had a feeding tube placed down his throat. He was placed under the UV lights due to Jaundice :-( We could barely touch our baby, we werent the first to feed/change etc. It was very very painful to see our miracle baby that we thought we would never have under all these cords/monitors. His poor little feed were black due to one having the IV and the other being pricked every 3 hours for blood sugar checks. We did not get to spend the night with Kyden until he was a week old. Mommy was blamed for everything too. Everything was because you had high blood pressure this happened, because it was a hard labor this happebed, we assume you had gestational diabetes after all so this happened. He was unable to latch so I had to pump. I would pump for 40 mins (I have very large breasts so he was too small to latch and their pump was too small and was very very painful to use) and I would only get a very small amount. I became completely engorged on both breast and had to have a nurse squeeze incrediably hard on my breasts and nipples to try and break the swelling. I was told that because of my fertility issues I may not produce enough milk. It was one thing after another. Then a nurse told my husband they were concerned I might be depressed after the birth of Kyden. He explained to them what I was feeling (major guilt) and that it was very painful to not be able to hold/feed my baby. The one nurse was very understanding and began to allow us more freedom/time with Kyden.

Fortunatly, Kyden is now home with us and is happy as can be!! We are very very happy and very very blessed!

Ok, so this sorta has to do with Katie's labor thread she made the other day. And no one may know the answer but I'll ask anyways lol...

So, with Josiah I was only 1 cm dilated when my water broke. Serenity was a scheduled c-section so I never went into labor. As I recall, I barely had braxton hicks contractions. So I never dilated or effaced with her at all. Now, with this pregnancy I have had braxton hicks contractions and back pain non stop since hitting 29 weeks. They start every afternoon whether or not I do anything. I can sit all day and they still start up in the afternoon. Warm baths have become a nightly thing for me now as they really help the back pain! And all of this reminds me of being pregnant with Josiah all over again, although I was further along when I started having these.

Now my question lol... I'm wondering that since I was only 1 cm dilated with Josiah when my water broke does that mean my water could or will break if or when I reach 1 cm this time? Or can it be different with every pregnancy? I'm wondering because since I am having so many pains I'm afraid I might reach 1 cm before being full term. So I worry my water will break this time like it did with him. I hope I'm making sense . I know a lot of women can walk around dilated 1 cm for weeks but for me as soon as I dilated to 1 my water broke the very next morning. So, is it possible that it won't break that early with this pregnancy? Sorry if I'm confusing... I don't know how else to expain it LOL.

What bought this thought on was me driving in the car wondering whether I should start sitting on a towel in case my waters broke, but then thinking well they didn't break with either of the others, what are the chances :dontknow:
