Well just talked to the doc and Brooks is allergic to Milk and Peas. Mildly allergic to soy beans, and VERY allergic to Wheat and Eggs. Doc doesn't think that milk, peas, or soy are major concern but could contribute to his eczema. Strange thing is is he has a milk based formula and peas everyday...he loves those things! OKay so anyway, he is completely cut off from wheat and eggs and the doc wants us to do a 2 week elimination of everything else to see what it does to his eczema. Really I guess I'm looking for advice, support, anything...eggs and wheat are everywhere.
PS. Went to regular doctor today and wait for it....double ear infections. The way I see it is he only has time to get two more before the tubes go in. Yep, trying to look on the bright side! |

I'm sorry Kathy....poor little Brooks.
![]() ![]() ![]() One of my best friends has a little boy who has multiple, multiple allergy including eggs and milk. Somehow, they have made it work. He drinks soy milk and can eat soy cheese products. Other than that, they just have to be really careful about what he can and cannot eat. As he has gotten older though (he's getting ready to turn 4), his allergies have lessened. He can actually eat things MADE with eggs now, although he still can't actually eat eggs. I hope your doc will lead you in the right direction and get you hooked up with a good nutritionist and a support group for parents going through the same thing. |

Poor lil dude, did they give you any hopes of the allergies going away as he gets older? I have no experience with allergies at all, but im really glad you got some answers so you know what you have to do. I hope you're able to get good support and resources on it all.

A girl my dh works with has a little guy who is allergic to wheat and dairy. I know they do a lot of shopping at the health food store and do a lot of label reading. I would do some research on line too. I know he isn't the only one. There has to be some kind of support group out there or website with tips and recipes. Hang in there. Now that you know what he is allergic to you know what to start avoiding.

Yeah we can always do that. the site the doc told me to check states that most kids out grow the allergy, so fingers crossed. We go back in a month for a follow up so he can see how he is doing on the elimination diet.
