Default A little nanny input?....

Ok so I have it narrowed down to 2 girls.

#1. Her last job was with twins girls from the time they were 2 weeks until they were 18 months, the only reason she isnt with them anymore is because the family moved, so she is consistant and reliable. And other experiance is babysitting through high school.

#2. I would have hired her on the spot. She was soooo great. She is going to school to be a teacher, she is taking a semester off and wont go back until august, which is the only thing that gets me is she will only be with us for 8 months and then I will have to start all over, but since that is so far away it doesnt bother me too much. Last summer when she was home from school she had a summer nanny job. She is the oldest of her siblings so shes been around babies and toddlers her whole life basically. She played with Nathan and talked to Kaylee. The only thing is she will be leaving in 8 months.

If it was me, I'd go with number 1. That way you are pretty much guaranteed consistency for your kids. 8 months might seem like a while, but it will fly by and do you REALLY wanna go through this process all over again before the end of the year?

I have to say I agree with Karen. I'd go with #1 so that you don't have to go through this process again.

I'd go with #1, assuming you were able to talk to her previous family and verify that is why she is no longer with them. Consistency and reliability are very good things in a nanny.

Honestly no. But by the time she leave Nathan will be going into school for the first time so it will be just Kaylee then anyways and Stephen even said at that point it will be just her and she will be almost one and we might want to change anyways, but I dont think so she will be so used to being at home I dont think day care will be an option. I just dont know, and I told them I would let them know by tomorrow. I would have hired her then and there if it hadnt been for her going back to school in aug.

I wouldn't say 8 months was "so long away". I think it will creep up on you pretty fast. You say Nathan will be in school, but will you or DH always be available to pick him up? You may still require a nanny. I would definitely not choose someone who could only commit to 8 months.

Yep....have to agree with everyone else. I couldn't pick someone who could only commit to 8 months. Because then there's no guarantee that you will find someone as good once she leaves. I would go with nanny #1.

I know it doesn't sound practical to hire #2 since she can only be there for 8 months but there is a reason she stood out to you and for that reason I would offer her the job you never know she may fall in love with your children and not leave in 8 months or find a way to work school around it! Good luck hun!!

i have to agree with princess(sorry i dont know your name!),there must have been a reason you like her in the first place, and you can always make other arrangements after 8 months.see it as a trial period?
