Hey girls,
Just wondering how your babies slept at 4mos, my girl is almost 4 mos and goes to sleep at about 2-3 am and sleeps 8 hours. Any tips for her to go to sleep earlier and sleep a bit later? Thanks and hope youre all doing well! |

Miss P sleeps from 9pm until anywhere from 6am-830am. I started her on a schedule when she was about two months old; bath, bottle, BED. It worked beautifully, she used to sleep until about 430am and wake up to eat, but since I started her on solids she tends to go for a few extra hours. I would suggest trying to get on a solid routine, give her something to identify bedtime, like a bath. Now, you can try to just lay her in her crib every night at a specific time so she gets the hint, but since she doesn't sleep until 2-3am I would definitely not start at 9pm, try doing it around midnight, then slowly move it up. I hope this helps! Good luck!

I'm interested in this, too. I want to get Eli on a schedule during the day (and have him start napping without being right beside me) and going to bed at a set time at night. I'm just not sure how to do it!
How'd you get Peyton to sleep on her own (or was she like that from the start)? Did you have a few rough days/weeks before she got the hang of it? I just can't decide when to start with Eli. I have this feeling that he'd really benefit from more structured naps but I don't know if he's too small to try to structure his day like that. Also, I don't want to stop co-sleeping, just get him to go to sleep on his own. Any advice?

I put Abby on a schedule at around 6-8 weeks. Well thats when I started the schedule and when she started sleeping through the night (8 hours) and I didnt give her solids until 6 months. But at the same time, all babies are different so just go with what you think your baby likes. Shes not going to sleep until 9 if you have to get her up at 7 to go to daycare or whatever.
I also started putting her in her crib awake, but I did that from day one. I had never had a baby before, nor had I ever been aroudn them, so I didnt know even enough to rock her to sleep! lol!!!!!! So she has great sleep habits only because I didnt know how to enable her to sleep any other way except for the way an adult does...poor thing AT 5 months Abby started sleeping 12 hours at night from 7 to 7. NOw with the time change its 8-8 lol! This is my opinion, but try a 10pm bedtime, and if she gets up in the middle of the night, try giving her a pacifier first before bottle, try to delay the bottle 15 minutes everyday until she has an 8 hour schedule. Once she has that, try moving the bedtime earlier too. Or whtaever works for you in that reguard. |
